Pleasant Street Center Book Group

Pleasant Street Center Book Group

Looking for a casual book group where you can discuss, engage and laugh with other like-minded readers? The Pleasant Street Center book group meets on the third Tuesday of each month on the second floor of the PSC, and this year, we'll be reading a sampling of genres and writing styles.

This month’s discussion features Harlem Shuffle by Pulitzer Prize winner Colson Whitehead, whose protagonist Ray Carney is "... only slightly bent when it came to being crooked..." Anchor Press describes the novel as "... a family saga masquerading as a crime novel, a hilarious morality play, a social novel about race and power and ultimately a love letter to Harlem." Take a break from your holiday merriment and join us as we step back in time to 1960's New York City.

Regular and large print copies are available for pickup at the Library; for more information, call the Reading Public Library at 781-944-0840.
