Beads and Stories: Indigenous Jewelry Making Workshop with Thomas Green-Series

Join indigenous artist and Massachusett Tribe Educator/Historian, Thomas Green in an introduction to seed beading for ages 10 and up. In this hands on workshop Green will teach the basics of creating a seed bead bracelet while sharing Massachusett traditions.  All materials provided. Please only sign up for either the 10-12 session or the 1-3 session on November 5th.

If you want to gain mastery of seed beading and learn more about local tribal culture, please come back for the December 17th and January 7th sessions @ 1:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend the other classes in the series you may cancel your registration via email or call the library at 781-944-0840.

This launch event is facilitated by Reading's Office of Equity and Social Justice. The rest of the series is generously sponsored by The Friends of the Reading Library. This series is the start of a collaboration between The OESJ, and RPL called Crafting Connections: Indigenous Art, Stories and Heritage.

Face coverings are not required and are welcomed while indoors at the Reading Public Library. Please follow the updated COVID-19 guidelines if you’ve tested positive, been in close contact, or are experiencing new symptoms.
