Weekend Wonder Bags!

Weekend Wonder Bags!

Our Weekend Wonder Bags are back! Sign up to receive supplies for the activity of the week. Check out your social media and Youtube for videos on how to do each activity.

Bags will be available on Fridays while we are open 9 AM - 5 PM. Supplies are very limited, so please only sign up the children in your household. These activities are aged for kids 7 and up. Please use your judgment when registering.

This week's activity: ELEPHANT TOOTHPASTE!

Supplies include: Hydrogen peroxide, disposable gloves, & yeast
You provide: Water, tablespoon, dish soap, two containers, & (optional) food coloring

Warning: This Weekend Wonder Bag experiment is a chemical reaction that happens quickly and is an exothermic reaction (it creates heat). It is not recommended to touch the hydrogen peroxide or final product with your bare hands. Do not do this experiment without a grownup's help. While the ingredients are non-toxic, the resulting foam is quite warm and hydrogen peroxide can sting on sensitve skin even after the reaction has occured. There are disposable gloves included in your kit to wear for extra protection should you want them. With all science experiments, it is better to be cautious and safe!

Thank you to the Friends of the Reading Public Library for supporting this event.
