All About Birds: Winter Birds Redux-Virtual

All About Birds is back, and we're starting off with a fan favorite: Birds In Winter! Register below to receive a Zoom link.

If you are a beginning birder, bird watching in the Winter is actually the best time to learn about birds.  There are fewer species about to differentiate and they tend to flock together.  The first part of the presentation will be two, virtual field trips, one to Cape Ann and one to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.  You will see some of the wintering birds that frequent these two beautiful places.  The goal would be to get you to return here on your own.
The second part of the presentation will cover the backyard birds you might expect to see at your feeders or in your yard during the winter.

Dave Williams has been birding for more than 40 years and taught middle school science in Reading for 37 years.  He is a graduate of Mass Audubon’s “Birders Certificate Program”, a year- long study of Birds.  He also attended Maine Audubon’s Hog Island Field Ornithology program. Presently, Dave is a volunteer teacher/naturalist at Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats sanctuary in Newburyport where he works with school groups and leads bird walks.  Dave is also active with the Ipswich River Watershed Association.  Dave loves to share his passion and enthusiasm for birds with folks.
