Dine In with Grace Lin

Dine In with Grace Lin

Join acclaimed children's book author Grace Lin for a virtual dinnertime visit with young readers. See what real-life characters, details and myths found their way into Ms Lin’s novels in this online program, perfect for the whole family! Register today for the Zoom link and visit the library for a free copy of The Year of the Dog by Grace Lin, one book per family while supplies last.

Ms. Lin is the author of more than two dozen books, including Where the Mountain Meets the Moon, a 2010 Newbery Honor Award-winning novel and the Ling & Ting series for early readers. She is an advocate for diversity in children's literature and created the video essay, “What to do when you realize classic books from your childhood are racist?” for PBSNewsHour. Ms. Lin also delivered the popular TEDx talk, “The Windows and Mirrors of Your Child’s Bookshelf.” She currently hosts two podcasts: Book Friends Forever and Kids Ask Authors. “Books erase bias," says Ms. Lin. "They make the uncommon everyday, and the mundane exotic. A book makes all cultures universal.”

This program is generously sponsored with funds donated by the Helen A. Nigro Foundation.
