An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe

Join the Reading Public Library for a dramatic performance of Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart and The Raven. Renowned performer Campbell Harmon speaks in-character as Poe with the audience about the author's life, his death, and his profound influence on American literature; dispelling the myths that have surrounded his legacy to show how his works continue to affect us today.

The program is suitable for all ages and will be held on the Library's Front Lawn. Registration is required. Due to capacity limits, each member of your group will have to have their own registration.

Please bring chairs or blankets for seating. We will have limited chairs available. This event is generously sponsored by The Friends of the Reading Library.

“The Reading Public Library asks that unvaccinated patrons continue to wear masks during outdoor library events when they can’t socially distance. Masks are required for all during Children’s programming for the safety of our youngest patrons who are ineligible for vaccination. Children 2 and under are exempt from face covering requirements. Please stay home if you’ve been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive or been diagnosed with COVID 19 in the past 14 days or are experiencing any of the following new symptoms as listed on the state’s website.”
