Pride Storytime with Drag Friends

Join us for a celebration of Pride with our special guest readers!

This special storytime is sponsored by the Friends of the Reading Public Library. You can learn more about the organization Drag Kings, Queens, and Friends here.

This storytime "is just what it sounds like—drag queens (and kings) reading stories to children. [This storytime] captures the imagination of gender fluidity in childhood and gives kids positive and unabashedly queer role models. Kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real."

Please contact the Reading Public Library Children's Room at 781-942-6705 to register for this event.

The Reading Public Library asks that unvaccinated patrons continue to wear masks during indoor and outdoor library events when they can’t socially distance. For now, masks are required during Children’s programming for the safety of our youngest patrons who are ineligible for vaccination. Children 2 and under are exempt from face covering requirements. Please stay home if you’ve been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive or been diagnosed with COVID 19 in the past 14 days or are experiencing any of the following new symptoms as listed on the state’s website.
