Fairy Tale Engineering: Humpty Dumpty Had a Great Fall

Fairy Tale Engineering: Humpty Dumpty Had a Great Fall

What if Humpty Dumpty had had some protection when he fell from the wall? Would all the kings horses and all the kings men have been able to put him back together again? Or would they have not even had to try, and Humpty would have just walked it off? Join us in this thought experiment as we recreate Humpty Dumpty's fall and use all sorts of materials to protect him.

For engineers going into grades 3-5.

*Please make sure to wear comfortable, mess-appropriate clothes as this is an outdoor program & in the event of an egg-tastrophe, could be a bit of a mess!

The Reading Public Library asks that unvaccinated patrons continue to wear masks during indoor and outdoor library events when they can’t socially distance. For now, masks are required during Children’s programming for the safety of our youngest patrons who are ineligible for vaccination. Children 2 and under are exempt from face covering requirements. Please stay home if you’ve been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive or been diagnosed with COVID 19 in the past 14 days or are experiencing any of the following new symptoms as listed on the state’s website.

"Tails and Tales" is sponsored by the Friends of the Reading Public Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
