Raining Cats & Dogs: Outdoor Art
Kickoff the summer and the Tails and Tales Teen Summer Reading Program with an outdoor art installation! Create a rainwork masterpiece that will appear each time it rains this summer for all to see on the library's sidewalk.
Come prepared with ideas to design your own stencil, from tailed animals to promote the summer reading theme (raining cats and dogs!), to positive messages, whatever your imagination dreams up! Get inspiration from this gallery and keep in mind small, detailed designs may not transfer as well as large ones. All supplies provided. For teens entering grades 6-12.
COVID protocols must be followed and attendees are required to keep 6 feet distance from those outside of their home group. Attendees are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times during indoor and outdoor library events. Children ages 2 and under are exempt from face covering requirements. Please stay home if you’ve been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive or been diagnosed with COVID 19 in the past 14 days or are experiencing any of the following new symptoms as listed on the state’s website.
This program is part of the Tails and Tales summer reading program and is sponsored by the Friends of the Reading Public Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and the Boston Bruins.
