Debby Irving "I'm a Good Person! Isn't That Enough?"

The Reading Public Library is pleased to host a virtual program “I’m a good person! Isn't that enough?” on Wednesday, March 31 at 7:00 pm. Author & educator Debby Irving will speak about her experiences in trying to better understand racial dynamics, unpacking her own long-held beliefs about colorblindness, being a good person, and wanting to help people of color. This program is designed to support white people in making the paradigm shift from ‘fixing’ and ‘helping’ those believed to be inferior, to focusing on internalized white superiority and its role in perpetuating racism at the individual, interpersonal, institutional, and cultural levels.   Ms. Irvings presentation is approximately 90 minutes and there will be additional time for questions.
