Teens Cook: March Madness

Join Teen Librarian, Susan, in the kitchen making recipes worthy of March Madness.  So, choose your brackets and let's get ready to see which dish will be taking down the net this year!  The following are the bracket busting recipes we will be making this month: Hot Pizza Dip, Loaded Potato, Mini Pizzas. All in the microwave!

The list of ingredients is below. 

Open to teens entering grades 6-12. This is an online event via Zoom. An invite will be sent at least an hour prior to the start of the program to the email given at registration. Be sure to check your spam box if the invite does not appear in your inbox.



Hot Pizza Dip                                                                                                                                                                                                              1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 can (8 oz) pizza sauce
2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons thinly sliced green onion
Breadsticks or tortilla chips

Loaded Potato                                                                                                                                                                                                            1 Russet potato, washed and scrubbed
1 tablespoon oil (vegetable or olive)
salt, to taste
2 slices bacon (may substitute with Bacon Bits)
¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese 
sour cream or plain Greek yogurt, to serve
fresh chive, to serve
Optional: cooked broccoli

Mini Pizzas
1 pack of English muffins (package of 6)
1 small jar of pizza sauce
8 oz package of shredded mozzarella
1 small bag of pepperoni slices
Optional add-ons: sliced peppers, mushrooms, anchovies, marinated artichoke hearts, olives or whatever you like on your pizza.
