Foreign Affairs Discussion Series

The Reading Public Library will host a foreign affairs discussion series on eight important U.S. and international current topics for eight consecutive weeks. Participants will be given brief readings in advance. The discussions will be led by Dr. Craig Brandt, a former naval officer who has been a professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology and Dean of Academic Affairs at the Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management.

The 8 topics are:
1.  The Post-Brexit Future

2.  Relations between Hong Kong and China
3. Is the U.S on the Path to Create Peace in the Middle East? 

4. Allies and Adversaries: Alternatives to U.S. Leadership

5.  Managing Trade with China

6.  India’s New Status for Kashmir: An Improvement in South Asian Affairs?

7.  U.S. Foreign Aid: Who Does It Benefit and at What Cost?

8.  The Northern Triangle of Central America: What Can the U.S. Do to Improve Conditions in These Countries?

There is no fee, but registration is required with limited space. Registration begins on September 3, with preference given to Reading residents. Use the form below or contacting the Library at 781-942-6703 or visiting the Information Desk.
