Watercolor Workshop

A fun, introductory class for those who have always wanted to play in the water with color, but weren't sure where to start. We'll cover the basics of supplies, preparing the paper, painting wet-on-wet, dry brush, mixing colors, ways of “saving the white”, and some surprise techniques to add texture and dimension. A simple landscape will serve as the basis for exploration. At the end of six classes you will have a completed painting. Some materials included, but student will need to bring some basic additional supplies. Registration begins on September 3 with preference given to Reading residents.

Artist Bio: Susan was born and raised in Massachusetts where she was constantly drawing, painting and making things. For thirty years she lived in Utah, Oregon, New Jersey, and Virginia before moving back to live in Reading. Susan earned her B.S. in Design from Brigham Young University in Provo, her Post Baccalaureate Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, and has recently earned her Museum Studies Master’s Degree from Harvard Extension. Her artwork has been shown in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. She is a teacher and award-winning watercolorist excited to share her love of "playing in the water with color."
