Author Grace Talusan: The Body Papers

Born in the Philippines, young Grace Talusan moves with her family to a New England suburb in the 1970s. This memoir in linked essays describes her childhood abuse and its life-altering effects.
Grace's story is a complex weave of the hopefulness of the  “American Dream” with struggles of race, abuse, and illness.  But mostly it's about resilience.
