Song Studio Part 1: Songwriting

Enjoy singing (either in the shower or belting it out in public)? Do you make up rhythms and lyrics yourself? Have an interest in music? Then Song Studio is for YOU. The library is teaming up with the pros over at Alpha Omega Music Studios to offer a two-part course in song writing and recording! No experience necessary. For teens grades 6-12.  This is a two-part program: Thursdays July 19 & July 26 with attendance expected for both dates. Registration required; limited spaces with preference given to Reading residents.

  • July 19: Songwriting--learn the basics of crafting a song melody. You'll work with a group to develop the melody of a song and add your own lyrics as time permits. Bring whatever skills you have (vocal or instrumental) and Alpha Omega will help you make music! You are welcome to bring an instrument you play (guitar, etc.) but please no drum kits.
  • July 26: Recording--record the song you wrote from the previous session! Groups will get to record on the spot with Alpha Omega's mobile studio. Finished recordings will be emailed to participants.
