PAWS to Read

It's time to "paws" to read your favorite book to a trained therapy dog! Dash and his handler Lauren will visit the Children's Room for an afternoon of cozy reading time. Reading to a dog is a wonderful, stress-free way to practice reading out loud. Dash is a very patient and kind listener! Read about Dash and the benefits of reading to animals in this recent Boston Globe article: When Reading Goes to the Dogs.

Kids in grades K-5 can sign up for a 15-minute time slot to read to Dash. Each young reader may register for only one PAWS to Read date and time. Please come to your appointment with a book picked out. We'll have plenty of choices on hand, if you need help finding a book to read to Dash.

To sign up, call the Children's Room at 781-942-6705. Registration starts Tuesday, April 17 at 9:00 am.
