Demystifying Nancy Drew

Demystifying Nancy Drew

Do you remember devouring every Nancy Drew book you could get your hands on? This program is devoted to everyone's favorite titian-haired sleuth, her history throughout the decades, and the memoribilia that have piled up during all her years of making sense of  mysteries, clues, symbols, masks, cases, intruders, hoaxes, ghosts and puzzles. Alicia Mello has been a fan and collector for over twenty years, accumulating  over 500 items in her personal Nancy Drew collection, some of which she will bring to show and tell. Learn about the many editions of the books, oddities and trivia. If you’d like to bring a Nancy Drew book to share with the group, Ms. Mello can evaluate the age and edition.

Alicia Mello is a photographer, early childhood educator, poet, creator of handmade jewelry, investigator of abandoned places, metal detection enthusiast and history buff. She comes to us from her home in Rhode Island.

This program is made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Reading Library.
