Crochet for Climate Awareness!

Crochet (or knit) for climate awareness!

Join a community project to share a powerful message about our oceans. Using fiber arts focusing on vulnerable marine life, you can help highlight the global impact of climate change on coral reefs and sea creatures.

Drop in to learn crochet basics, grow your existing skills, and connect with others through colorful expressions in yarn. Supplies, space, and instruction will be provided for crafters of all skill levels at each standalone session as needed, or just come to work independently on your own creations with other passionate crocheters!

Coral reef crochet sessions will run through March and April, with a community exhibit of finished pieces on display May through October. Can't make it to an in-person session? You can still contribute your finished pieces to the final display! Ask us at the Reference Desk for details. Get free sample patterns and resources here.

Suitable for middle-school through adult participants. No registration required.

Sessions:

  • Tuesday March 19, 7-8:30 pm
  • Wednesday, March 20, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
  • Tuesday, April 2, 7-8:30 pm
