Virtual-Ryan Estrada Author of Banned Book Club

Virtual-Ryan Estrada Author of Banned Book Club

The Reading Public Library is excited to host Ryan Estrada, co-author of the graphic novel Banned Book Club!

The gripping true story of a South Korean woman's student days under an authoritarian regime in the early 1980s, and how she defied state censorship through the rebellion of reading.

About the Author:

After working with activists who used banned books to overthrow a dictator, working with a survivor who used banned books to escape a cult, then working with freedom to read organizations all over the world when his own book got banned, Ryan Estrada has a unique perspective to bring on the importance of the freedom to read books and the dangerous historical context that keeps people trying to ban them.

Ryan has a diverse background that has allowed him to work on many different projects. They are colorfully displayed on his website.
