Birds Back from The Brink: Massachusetts Success Stories with Dave Williams

Birds Back from The Brink: Massachusetts Success Stories with Dave Williams

What do the Bald Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Osprey, and the Wild Turkey all have in common?  All four of these species were pushed to the brink of elimination here in Massachusetts. This presentation will examine the causes of their near-demise and how their populations were reinvigorated so that now all thrive here in the Commonwealth.

Dave Williams is a life-long resident of Reading who has been birding for over 40 years.  He is a graduate of MA Audubon's Birders Certificate Program and is actively involved in the Brookline Bird Club.  Dave is a retired middle school science teacher who now volunteers as an educator and naturalist at Massachusetts Audubon's Joppa Flats sanctuary where he works with school groups and leads bird walks.

This program is generously sponsored by The Friends of the Reading Library.
