Find Your Melody: Music Therapy Group for Teens with Roman Music Therapy (Grades 6-12)

Find Your Melody: Music Therapy Group for Teens with Roman Music Therapy (Grades 6-12)

Inviting Musical Exploration in a Safe and Therapeutic Environment - 10 week summer series

This music therapy group for teens is a unique musical place where teens with disabilities can join us for music making and meeting new friends. Music experiences in this group are designed to support various communication methods, encourage social engagement, and foster creativity and imagination using instruments and songs. Participants in this group will have opportunities for personal empowerment and socialization in a fun and engaging group setting. All teens with various communication methods seeking peer to peer interactions are welcome to attend.

This series of programs is designed for kids entering grades 6-12 in the fall with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Peers and siblings are welcome to attend, too! This group is being led by one music therapist, so there will be a 1:12 ratio. If your teen needs more support, please have a caregiver attend with them. Individuals ages 18-22 can attend either the teen or adult program; whatever you think will be the best fit.

Register using the form below. Indicate how many people will be in your party, and include the contact information for one member of your party, so we can contact you in case of program cancellation.
