Spoken Word Poetry for Teens

Spoken Word Poetry is a dynamic, engaging, inclusive art form that's pushing a new generation of brilliant young people to connect with each other through the telling of their stories. Whether you're a beginner, or have been writing for years, this workshop offers an opportunity to learn about the Massachusetts Youth Poetry Slam Movement from Alex Charalambides, veteran poetry slammer and director of Youth Arts Non-Profit, Mass LEAP. We'll talk about what makes a poem come alive on stage, do some writing and hopefully, some sharing out loud.

Grades 6-12 only.
