Teennovation:Strip Folding Origami

Featured Activity:Strip Folding Origami. Learn the art of strip folding origami from local expert Maiya Sah. Unlike traditional origami which uses square pieces of paper, strip folding or "origami fringe" uses strips of paper/ribbon that are folded and woven together. In this workshop, learn how to make a bird, star and mobile. It is said that filling a jar full of stars will bring luck and that making 1000 birds will get a wish.  Whether you are new to origami or a fan of traditional origami, learn a new way of crafting and discover different things that can be made from strips of paper/ribbon!

Teens grades 6-12 only. Registration required; space is limited with preference given to Reading residents.

Teennovation is a monthly meetup for teens interested in innovation, learning, imagination and creativity! Each month offers a new experience from guest experts to hands-on activities covering STEAM topics and themes. Sponsored by Friends of Reading Public Library.
