Street Art for Kids- RESCHEDULED (snow) TIL 3/20

Prep for author and illustrator Javaka Steptoe's visit by learning more about street and Jean-Michel Basquiat art in this class from Creative Arts!

In this series of workshops we will learn more about the raw and exciting work of street artist Jean -Michel Basquiat.  We will begin by exploring the differences between street art and graffiti by experimenting with the different styles and tools used by these artists, such as lettering techniques and stenciling.  After having fun experimenting with street art techniques, students will create expressive and abstract mixed media self- portraits inspired by Basquiat’s signature style!

This class is free and all materials will be supplied, thanks to the support of the Friends of the Reading Public Library.

Registration is open to students in Grades 3-5, and registration preference will be given to Reading residents. Sign up using the form below or call the Children's Room at 781-942-6725 starting Monday, February 5.
