Basics of Tonalism Workshop

Learn the basics of Tonalism, using transparent oils, paper towels,  a few brushes, and your fingertip. The mystery of early dawn and sunset  will illuminate on your canvas!

Tonalism is an artistic style of painting, derived from the  French Barbican School, but began in  America in the 1880's . Landscapes were painted  in overall forms of colored atmosphere and mist , using dark, neutral hues  creating a luminous effect.

Local artist Jeannette Corbett will be your guide. Open to adults. All materials provided. Registration is necessary, and preference is given to Reading residents.
